Congratulations to PY4 students Bemnat Agegnehu, Hank Clark, Ember (Yiwei) Lu, Spenser Smith, Andrew Tiemann and Shengmei Yin, who presented results from their Research and Scholarship in Pharmacy (RASP) project at the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Annual Meeting in New York City in October 2019.

Additional congratulations to Spenser Smith, who was awarded a competitive ACCP Student Travel Award!

Bemnat’s abstract is titled, “Evaluating the Killing Dynamics of Polymyxin B and Meropenem as Monotherapy and Combination Therapy Against Hypermutable Pseudomonas aeruginosa.” Her faculty mentor is Dr. Gauri Rao in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET).

Hank’s abstract is titled, “Medication Errors in Adolescents Using Asthma Controller Medications.” His faculty mentor is Dr. Betsy Sleath in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (DPOP).

Ember’s abstract is titled, “Impact of the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine in Hindering Antimicrobial Resistance in China.” Her faculty mentor is Dr. Sachi Ozawa in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (PACE).

Spenser’s abstract is titled, “Initial Characterization of Nicotinamide Metabolism in Pregnancy: A Novel Treatment for Preeclampsia.” His faculty mentor is Dr. Craig Lee in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET). Andrew’s abstract is titled, “Treatment-Emergent Macrocytosis as a Predictive Biomarker of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor Efficacy.” His faculty mentor is Dr. Daniel Crona in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET).

Shengmei’s abstract is titled, “A Retrospective Analysis of the Use of Pregabalin or Gabapentin on the Incidence of Pegfilgrastim-Induced Bone Pain.” Her faculty mentor is Dr. Andrew Lucas in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET).
