Congratulations to PY4 students Emily Boesch, Erin Mays and Joe Piscitelli, who presented results from their Research and Scholarship in Pharmacy (RASP) project at leading therapeutic and research specialty conferences in October 2019.

Emily presented her abstract titled, “Neuroprotective Effects of Cannabinoid Ligands in a Model of Early Alzheimer Pathogenesis” at the Society for Neuroscience “Neuroscience 2019” national conference in Chicago, IL. Her faculty mentor is Dr. Rick Meeker in the UNC School of Medicine.

Erin presented her abstract titled, “Evaluation of Adverse Drug Reactions due to Common Beta-Lactam Therapies Among Patients Enrolled in an Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) Program” at the “IDWeek 2019” national conference in Washington, DC. Her faculty mentor is Dr. Ashley Marx in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (PACE).

Joe presented his abstract titled, “The Use of a Mechanism-Based Model to Better Characterize the Pharmacology of Combination Colistin and Ceftazidime/Avibactam Across Five Carbapenem-Resistant Klebsiella pneumonia Strains” at the American Conference on Pharmacometrics (ACoP) in Orlando, FL. His faculty mentor is Dr. Gauri Rao in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET).
